Ukraine’s Armed Forces repel Russian attacks near 15 settlements – General Staff

Ukraine’s defence forces repelled Russian attacks in the areas of 15 settlements on 27 December.

Russians continue their offensive on Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts, while trying to improve their position on the Lyman front. 

Ukraine’s defence forces have successfully repelled attacks in the area of Ploshchanka and Chervonopopivka in Luhansk Oblast, as well as Spirne, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Pidhorodne, Bakhmut, Andriivka, Klishchiivka, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Marinka, Pobieda and Zolota Nyva in Donetsk Oblast.

Details: On the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, there were no significant changes. There is no evidence indicating that Russia is forming additional units to launch a new offensive.

On other fronts, the Russians are defending the taken positions, trying to ward off the Armed Forces of Ukraine from undertaking much action. 

On the Sivershchyna front and Slobozhanshchyna front, the Russians shelled the areas in and around the settlements of Mefedivka, Tovstodubove and Vovkivka in Sumy Oblast, as well as Hlyboke, Starytsia, Ohirtseve and Vovchansk in Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Kupiansk front, the invaders shelled the areas of Novomlynsk, Tavilzhanka, Dvorichne, Kupiansk, Tabaivka, Krokhmalne, Berestove and Pershotravneve in Kharkiv Oblast, as well as Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka and Kolomyichykha in Luhansk Oblast.

On the Lyman front, areas of the settlements of Ploshchanka and Dibrova in Luhansk Oblast, as well as Yampolivka, Torske and Hryhorivka in Donetsk Oblast came under fire.

On the Bakhmut front, the invaders attacked the areas of the settlements of Spirne, Berestove, Bilohorivka, Soledar, Pidhorodne, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Opytne, Stupochky, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Bila Hora, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka, Maiorsk and New-York in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Avdiivka front, the settlements of Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Marinka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast were attacked.

On the Novopavlivka front, the settlements of Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Vremivka ta Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk Oblast came under fire. 

On the Zaporizhzhia front, the invaders attacked the areas in and around the settlements of Temyrivka, Olhivske, Poltavka, Malynivka, Dorozhnianka, Bilohiria, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Shcherbaky, Kamianske and Plavni in Zaporizhzhia Oblast with tanks and rocket artillery.

On the Kherson front, Russians continue their mortar and artillery attacks on civilian infrastructure along the right bank of the Dnipro river. In particular, Chervonohryhorivka in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Antonivka in Kherson Oblast, as well as the city of Kherson. There are wounded among the civilians. 

The General Staff reported that in the temporarily occupied Sevastopol, the invaders intensified their agitation for contract military service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

In the course of the previous day, Ukrainian Rocket Forces and Artillery units struck one command post, seven clusters of Russian manpower and equipment, two ammunition storage points, as well as an important military facility.
