The United States government has developed a special plan for the accelerated deployment of the Patriot anti-aircraft missile complex, which Washington will hand over to Kyiv.

Source: Dmytro Kuleba, Foreign Minister of Ukraine, in an interview with AP agency on Sunday, European Pravda reports.

According to Kuleba, the U.S. government has made a special plan to get the Patriot missile battery ready to be operational in the country in less than six months. Usually, the training takes up to a year.

Kuleba also said he was "absolutely satisfied" with the results of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to the U.S. last week, which became the president’s first visit abroad since the full-scale Russian invasion.

Background: During Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to the United States on 21 December. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken officially announced a new $1.85 billion military aid package for Ukraine, which for the first time involves the transfer of the Patriot air defence system.

Kuleba then said that U.S. President Joe Biden's decision to transfer the Patriot air defence system to Ukraine is a precedent and opens the door for similar moves by other allies.

At the same time, as it was unofficially reported, it will take several months for the Ukrainian military to be thoroughly prepared to work with the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system.
