Russia lose over 99,000 soldiers and 266 helicopters in war

Russia has lost 99,230 soldiers, 266 helicopters and 2,995 tanks in its war against Ukraine as of 20 December.

Details: Total combat losses of the Russian forces between 24 February and 19 December 2022 are estimated to be as follows [figures in parentheses represent the latest losses - ed.]:

  • approximately 99,230 (+430) military personnel;
  • 2,995 (+7) tanks;
  • 5,974 (+5) armoured combat vehicles;
  • 1,960 (+7) artillery systems;
  • 410 (+0) multiple-launch rocket systems;
  • 212 (+0) air defence systems;
  • 281 (+0)  fixed-wing aircraft;
  • 266 (+2) helicopters;
  • 1,680 (+23) operational-tactical UAVs;
  • 653 (+0) cruise missiles;
  • 16 (+0) ships/boats;
  • 4,599 (+7) vehicles and tankers;
  • 177 (+2) special vehicles and other equipment.
