About 7,000 people remain in destroyed city of Sievierodonetsk

Calculations of the legitimate authorities indicate that about 7,000 civilians remain in the occupied city of Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk Oblast.

Quote: "The supply of humanitarian kits by the occupation authorities is to some extent organised, some are brought in by their charitable foundations, but in minimal quantities and, mostly, for the arrival of journalists.

As far as I know, the people who tried to come to the city did not stay there: there were units who were forced [to do so] due to personal circumstances. People came, tried to somehow restore their homes, but left because there are no living conditions in the city."

Details: Striuk states that it is "practically impossible" to live in the city now. The sewage system does not work, there is no heating, houses are destroyed or damaged.

Exit from Sievierodonetsk, as well as from other occupied cities, is currently possible only through Russia and the Baltic States, or through occupied Crimea and then also through Russia to the EU.

Background: According to the latest official data, more than 115,000 people used to live in the Sievierodonetsk hromada [an administrative unit designating a town, village or several villages and their adjacent territories] before the full-scale invasion.

In June, Serhii Haidai, Head of Luhansk Oblast Military Administration, reported that 90% of the Russian-occupied Sievierodonetsk was destroyed.

In late June, after a long defence, Ukrainian units decided to withdraw from Sievierodonetsk.
