Russian army concentrates on offensive on two fronts in Donetsk Oblast – General Staff

The Russian occupying forces are concentrating efforts on offensive attempts on the Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts.

Quote: "The enemy is trying to regain the lost positions on the Lyman front; on the Zaporizhzhia front, they are repairing the railway infrastructure to improve logistic support.

They concentrate efforts on conducting offensive actions on the Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts. On other fronts, the Russian forces are conducting defence, concentrating their efforts on restraining the actions of units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine."

Details: On 18 December, the Russian occupiers launched 4 missile strikes and fired about 20 rounds of anti-aircraft fire. Civilian infrastructure and civilians were affected.

The threat of Russian forces' air and missile strikes remains on the entire territory of Ukraine.

On the Volyn and Polissia fronts, the situation has not changed significantly, and no signs of the formation of offensive groups have been detected.

On the Sivershchyna front, the settlement of Bilokopytove [Sumy Oblast] was hit by mortar fire.

On the Slobozhanshchyna front, the Russian army is holding a group of troops in the border areas of Belgorod Oblast; they carried out tank, mortar and artillery attacks on the areas of Chervona Zoria, Strilecha, Hlyboke, Vovchansk, Fyholivka, Dvorichna and Novomlynsk in Kharkiv Oblast. 

On the Kupiansk front, the Russian forces shelled the areas of Yahidne, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka, Krokhmalne and Berestove in Kharkiv Oblast, and Novoselivka and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk Oblast.

On the Lyman front, such settlements as Makiivka, Ploshchanka, Chervonopopivka and Dibrova in Luhansk Oblast were hit.

On the Bakhmut front, the Russian army used tanks and all kinds of artillery to attack the settlements of Verkhnokamianske, Berestove, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Hryhorivka, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Kurdiumivka, Dyliivka, Ozarianivka, Pivnichne and Opytne in Donetsk Oblast. 

On the Avdiivka front, the Russian soldiers inflicted fire near Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson fronts, the settlements of Temyrivka, Chervone, Mali Shcherbaky and Plavni in Zaporizhzhia Oblast and the city of Kherson were affected by Russian attacks. There are casualties among civilians.

During the day, the Ukrainian aviation landed 6 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment and 3 strikes on the positions of the Russian forces' anti-aircraft missile systems.

Rocket Forces and Artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit 2 ammunition warehouses within one day.
