DTEK resumed operation of damaged facilities in Kyiv: cold water will be returned to the entire capital and electricity in Troieshchyna

Due to the missile attack, the power facilities of DTEK Kyiv electric networks that feed one of the water utility facilities and some residential buildings of Troieshchyna were damaged. As of this evening, the operation of damaged power facilities was restored.

This was reported by DTEK.

It is emphasised that this will allow returning cold water supply to the whole of Kyiv and electricity in the homes of 16,000 residents of Troieshchyna.

"Power engineers and utilities are doing everything possible to stabilise the situation in the city as soon as possible and return to scheduled blackouts according," the report says.

As a result of Russia's large-scale missile attack on energy infrastructure facilities on Friday, 16 December, one of DTEK's Enterprises was damaged, due to being repeatedly attacked.

A Russian missile attack on the morning of 16 December resulted in damage to approximately nine generation facilities and restricted the operation of nuclear power plants.

As a result of a large-scale missile strike by the Russian Federation on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine on 16 December, the northern, southern, and central regions suffered the most significant damage. The state of emergency was enacted only for electricity market participants.

In the evening, Ukrenergo [national electricity company – ed.] announced its termination of the emergency situation in United Energy System of Ukraine (UES).

A third of the capital's residents have heat and water supply, and city services are working to ensure the return of heat and water to all residents of Kyiv by morning.
