Quote: "The metro service is temporarily suspended on all lines. Underground stations are being used as shelters. The air raid siren continues! Please stay in shelters!"

Update: The KCSA reported that due to damage to the power system and emergency power outages, underground trains will not be running for the remainder of Friday [16 December – ed.].

At the same time, underground stations will be functioning as shelters.

People are asked to use surface-level public transport to travel around the city.

On 16 December, buses will be running in the city on regular routes; some buses will run as replacements for trolleybus routes.

On 17 December, the city administration will also provide additional buses to replace tram routes and organise buses to partially replace metro routes.

Private transport operators in Kyiv have been instructed to increase the number of buses operating as fixed-route taxis. The focus is on routes covered by electric public transport: the metro, trolleybuses and trams.
