Quote from Hromov: "I believe that there will be a complete ceasefire on our part only when no invaders remain on our land."
Background:
- On 12 December, in an address to the G7 leaders, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia could start withdrawing its troops from the territory of Ukraine on Christmas Day and thus show its ability to abandon aggression.
- Dmitry Peskov, the Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, said that the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine on Christmas was "out of the question".
- Further to Zelenskyy’s suggestion that the Russian forces start retreating before the Christmas holidays, Oleksii Danilov, the Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defence Council, has explained that the authorities do realise that this is not going to happen.
