All thermal and hydroelectric power plants are damaged after eight waves of missile attacks

All thermal and hydroelectric power plants have been damaged, and 40% of the high-voltage networks have sustained various levels of damage due to the large-scale missile attacks by the Russians in Ukraine.

Quote: "There is a significant electricity deficit in Ukraine's energy system. All thermal and hydroelectric power stations have been damaged; 40% of the high-voltage networks have sustained various levels of damage after eight waves of missile attacks in the country. Each of us must realise that we will go through this winter with significant restrictions in electricity consumption."

Details: Shmyhal also added that the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine was instructed to define and submit for consideration clear priorities for providing electricity supply.

"In addition, last week we allocated UAH 100 million to rebuild the heat supply system in Kremenchuk. Another UAH 50 million were sent to Sumy Oblast to rebuild the destroyed infrastructure facilities."

In general, the Ukrainian government has already allocated more than UAH 5 billion to the regions for reconstruction.

Background: The Ukrainian national energy company, Ukrenergo, will receive over EUR€400 million to purchase critical equipment for the restoration of the power grid infrastructure.
