Quote: "It is likely that our forces [the Russian occupiers – ed.] will move out to the left-bank part of Kherson Oblast, and those people who have not yet managed to move from Kherson must evacuate to the left bank as soon as possible. We are still working on this."
Details: At the same time, Stremousov claimed that there is no "massive rapid offensive" and that all attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine have supposedly been repelled.
Background:
- In October, Kirill Stremousov, a Russian-installed leader in Kherson Oblast, announced preparations for the offensive by Ukrainian forces on the city of Kherson. The occupiers later announced that the so-called "administration" was moving to the left bank of the Dnipro river.
- At the end of October, the National Resistance Center confirmed that the Russians had moved the occupying administration to the left bank of the Dnipro river in Kherson Oblast, i.e. evacuated from the city of Kherson. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also confirmed the movements of the occupying administration.
- On 3 November it was revealed that the Russian flag had disappeared from the Kherson Oblast State Administration building in the city of Kherson.
- Kyrylo Budanov, the head of Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence, told Ukrainska Pravda that the Russian occupiers are only pretending to retreat from Kherson. In reality they are bringing in new military units and preparing to defend the occupied city.
