Russia not yet decided whether to extend Black Sea Grain Initiative
The Kremlin has stated that despite Russia's return to the Grain Initiative, a decision on whether it will be extended in November has not yet been made.
Source: European Pravda, reporting that this was stated by Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Russian President, as quoted by the Russian news agency Kommersant.
"By 19th [November], before making a decision on the extension, of course, it will be necessary to make a general assessment of the effectiveness of the implementation of the agreement, an assessment of how all aspects of the agreements were implemented, and then come to some decisions," Peskov said.
He added that the topic of extending the agreement will still have to be discussed officially.
As reported, on 2 November, Russia changed its mind and returned to the Grain Initiative, participation in which Moscow "suspended" after an alleged attack on the vessels of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
The occupier’s Ministry of Defence stated that Russia had received "written guarantees" from Ukraine regarding the non-use of the grain corridor for hostilities against the Russian Federation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine refuted Putin's statement that Ukraine allegedly took some new obligations regarding the implementation of the Grain Initiative.
As reported by Economichna Pravda, the final decision on the future of the Grain Initiative will most likely be made by Russian President Putin at the G20 summit. Read more about this in the European Pravda’s article.
