Moreover, the Russians continue abducting people from their homes and seizing weapons.

Background:

On 11 November, the Armed Forces of Ukraine regained control over the city of Kherson; almost the entire territory of Mykolaiv Oblast was liberated at the time as well, apart from the Kinburn Spit.

Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv Oblast Military Administration, reported on 22 November that three settlements on the Kinburn Spit had to be liberated in order to fully de-occupy the oblast.

The American Institute for the Study of War believes that the Ukrainian forces will be able to better conduct operations on the left (Eastern) bank of Kherson Oblast if the Kinburn Spit returns under their control.

The Operational Command Pivden (South) has pointed out that the control over the spit will secure the grain corridor from the port of Mykolaiv.
