President’s Office: Russia enjoys terror, but it does not affect course of war

Mykhailo Podoliak, advisor to the Head of the Office of the President, has said that Russia is trying to cover up its defeats on the contact line by terrorising the civilian population of Ukraine, but strikes on the energy sector would not change the course of the war.

Previously: In the autumn, Russian troops began to hit the Ukrainian energy sector: the first attack on 11 September was on Kharkiv, Sumy and Poltava oblasts, and since 10 October, the Russian Federation has been methodically hitting energy facilities in Ukraine on a weekly basis. 

After the last such strike on 23 November, Ukraine is experiencing prolonged power outages. A massive Russian missile attack resulted in temporary power outages at all nuclear power plants and most thermal and hydroelectric power plants. Power transmission facilities were also damaged.
