Ukraine needs substations and anti-aircraft defence systems to overcome energy crisis
Dmytro Kuleba, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, has said that his country needed substations to restore the energy system and anti-aircraft defence systems to protect it from Russian missiles.
Kuleba stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, where his counterparts from seven Baltic and Northern European countries participated, European Pravda reports
"In order to restore the energy system, we need two things: substations, which are the biggest part of the energy system, and anti-aircraft defence systems to shoot down enemy rockets that hit our infrastructure facilities. So, by giving us anti-aircraft defence systems, you are also saving and restoring our energy infrastructure facilities," Kuleba said.
Kuleba added that without anti-aircraft defence systems, the energy crisis will be ongoing, as after repairs, Ukraine’s power system will be destroyed again.
"We need to stop it. We need two elements: spare parts for the system itself and anti-missile and anti-aircraft defence systems to protect it," he said.
Kuleba noted that power generators are one of the greatest needs in Ukraine now.
Previously, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden promised to keep providing Ukraine with economic, military and humanitarian aid and strengthen sanctions against Russia.
