Russia plans new wave of covert mobilisation – General Staff

A new wave of covert mobilisation is expected to take place in Russia and the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

Background:

• On 14 October, Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed that partial mobilisation in his country would be completed in the coming weeks; since 21 September, 222,000 Russians have already been conscripted.
• Following the announcement of Putin's "partial mobilisation" on 21 September, up to 500,000 people may have already been drafted into the military.
