Kremlin creates man-made famine like the one in 1933

Ukraine has allocated 900 million hryvnias [approximately US$24.38 million - ed.] to buy grain and corn for Sudan, Yemen, Kenya and Nigeria in order not to allow the Kremlin to create a man-made famine there.

Quote: "The Kremlin now understands Ukraine’s significance as one of the guarantors of the world’s food security and is blocking Ukrainian exports by any means, in this way creating a man-made famine in other countries.

Unfortunately, these victims are intended by Russia; they are interested in global instability, just like they were interested in the death of Ukrainians in 1933."

Details: According to Shmyhal, the Grain from Ukraine initiative, introduced by the President of Ukraine, will enhance the humanitarian component of the Ukrainian food export as participant states will buy Ukrainian products and give them to the countries where there is a threat of famine.

Germany has already purchased 27,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat, which is going to be directed to Ethiopia. The USA has also allocated US$20 million to buy Ukrainian food. Additionally, the Prime Minister of Poland has announced the allocation of US$20 million for this purpose.

Despite its own issues, Ukraine has allocated 900 million hryvnias [approximately US$24.38 million] to buy wheat and corn for Sudan, Yemen, Kenya and Nigeria, as Prime Minister Shmyhal has reminded.

The initiative is implemented in partnership with the UN World Food Programme.

Additional information: Ukraine has launched the Grain from Ukraine initiative on the 90th anniversary of Holodomor [the devastating man-made famine that took place in Ukraine in 1932-1933 and was orchestrated by the USSR’s leadership - ed.]. Within this initiative, approximately 60 ships with Ukrainian grain are planned to go to the poorest countries of Africa by the middle of the next year.

Previously, the government has approved sending 125,000 tonnes of grain to Sudan, Yemen, Kenya, and Nigeria as instructed by the President’s Decree On Providing Humanitarian Aid to Countries of Africa and Asia.
