USA and Europe to help Ukraine restore its energy system

Herman Halushchenko, Minister of Energy of Ukraine, has held emergency phone conversations with Kadri Simson, EU Commissioner for Energy, and the US Department of Energy regarding destructive consequences of the 23 November missile attacks for Ukraine’s energy system.

Halushchenko has stressed the urgent need of Ukraine’s energy sector to be supported by international partners.
"We are grateful for the equipment and materials already supplied to Ukraine. However, we have an urgent need of high-voltage equipment to restore and stabilise the functioning of the energy system today," the Minister stated.
The Ministry has added that the partners have expressed their full support and readiness to take relevant measures in order to help Ukraine’s energy sector.
They have also agreed on further communication to coordinate next steps regarding the support of Ukraine during this conversation.
