Mobile communication being restored in Kherson Oblast: 52 base stations and 3 mobile cell sites already repaired

In the liberated territories of Kherson Oblast, 52 base transceiver stations and 3 mobile cell sites have already been repaired; gas supply is under restoration, and destroyed communications are under repair.

Quote from Yanushevych: Mobile operators have resumed the work of five base stations in Kherson Oblast: four in Kherson, and one in Chornobaivka [Kherson Oblast]. Currently, 52 base and 3 mobile stations have been restored in the oblast."

Details: Yanushevych added that gas distribution stations in the settlements of Bilozerka and Stanislav have been repaired; over 6,300 customers in 13 settlements are provided with gas supply. The hospital of Bilozerka is also supplied with gas.

Gas supply has been restored for a total of 626 consumers in the village of Velyka Oleksandrivka, Kherson Oblast.

Intermittent centralised water supply has been restored in the following five settlements: Inhulets, Tokarivka, Ivanivka, Lymanets and Chornobaivka.

Yanushevych said that bomb disposal teams of the National Police of Ukraine inspected almost 12 hectares of territories and seized 125 explosive items, and bomb disposal experts of the State Emergency Service inspected 9.5 hectares of territories and seized 411 explosive items.

Humanitarian aid was brought to Kherson Oblast from a number of other oblasts.

  • On 9 November, Sergei Surovikin, the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian occupying forces in Ukraine, announced that Russian troops were leaving the city of Kherson
  • On 11 November, Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reported that Kherson was returning under Ukraine’s control and the Armed Forces of Ukraine were entering the city. The Russian occupiers’ retreat routes are under the fire control of the Ukrainian army.
  • On 12 November, Legitimate Oblast and City Military Administrations, as well as the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) and the National Police of Ukraine, began working in liberated Kherson.
  • On 13 November, Yanushevych reported that mobile communication was restored in the liberated city of Kherson. In particular, the Vodafone [Ukrainian telecommunications company] base station started working near the Sviatodukhiv Cathedral – mobile communication and the Internet was available within a radius of 10 kilometres. Kyivstar [Ukrainian telecommunications company] station was working on Svobody Square – voice communication was available within a radius of two kilometres.
  • On 14 November, Yanushevych reported that Ukrainian mobile communication was restored in the village of Chornobaivka, Kherson Oblast, and a public Wi-Fi point would be launched in the centre of the city of Kherson on 15 November.
