Timothy Snyder becomes UNITED24 ambassador, raising funds for "Shahed Hunter"
Timothy Snyder, an American historian, writer and professor at Yale University, has become the latest ambassador for the UNITED24 fundraising platform.

Details: Timothy Snyder, professor of history at Yale University, has joined a team of ambassadors of the United24 fundraising platform, initiated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Snyder has become the second United24 ambassador after actor Mark Hamill, who is going to focus his efforts on fundraising for defence and bomb disposal.
Timothy Snyder met Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his trip to Kyiv in September. The famous historian has recently made his lecture course at Yale University, which is called The Making of Modern Ukraine and has almost 3,000,000 views, available online.
Now, he is joining Ukraine’s support effort as a United24 ambassador: Timothy Snyder will fundraise for a defence system against Russian UAVs that are being used in attacking Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.

Quote from Snyder: "I'm supporting Ukraine because Ukraine must win this war. Ukrainian victory will open the region and the world to democracy and give us all hope. But for now, Ukraine is threatened.
Much of Ukraine is under occupation. The aggressor, breaking all the laws of war, seeks to kill civilians and to deprive them of the basic means of existence such as food, water, and electricity. To protect Ukrainians, to protect Ukraine, and thereby to defend all these values, we must be able to stop these attacks.
I'm a historian and a scholar and in the long run I want to be raising money to rebuild libraries, schools, and universities. But right now, we have to do what is more urgent, which is to raise money to help Ukraine to defend itself from murderous drones. That is why I have set my goal as raising $1.25 million for anti-drone defence."
For information: United24 is a fundraising platform initiated by the President of Ukraine, and the main place for collecting donations for Ukraine’s support. Over the six months of its existence, US$213,000,000 have been raised from citizens of 110 countries.
Famous sports personalities, such as Andrii Shevchenko, Elina Svitolina, and Oleksandr Usyk; the Creative Director of Balenciaga, Demna Gvasalia; American actors Liev Schreiber and Mark Hamill; the band Imagine Dragons; singer and actress Barbra Streisand, and astronaut Scott Kelly are among United24 ambassadors.
