Events of last few days put end to Russian "blackmail diplomacy" – Head of President’s Office

Andrii Yermak, the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, believes that the events around the Black Sea Grain Initiative and the safe corridor through the Black Sea put an end to the Russian "blackmail diplomacy" that lasted for many years.

Background:
- After drones hit the Russian Black Sea Fleet ships in the occupied city of Sevastopol on 29 October, Russia stated that it is suspending its participation in the grain initiative.
- After that, the UN stated that the deal remains in force anyway and the UN inspectors will continue to check the vessels.
- On the same day, 31 October, Russian President Vladimir Putin started hinting that Russia is ready to return to the agreement.
- On 1 November, Ukraine, Türkiye and the UN decided to stop the operation of the grain corridor within the Black Sea Grain Initiative on 2 November. But Ankara intended to continue implementation of the initiative.
- On 2 November, the Ministry of Defence of Russia announced that Russia is resuming the implementation of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which was suspended after the explosions in Sevastopol.
