Black Sea Grain Initiative: 9 vessels with agricultural products left Ukrainian ports in 2 days

Nine vessels with 162,000 tonnes of agricultural products for the countries of Africa, Asia and Europe have left the ports of Odesa in the last two days within the framework of the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

Quote: "In particular, the bulk carriers BOZBURUN-M and GOKOVA-M with 40,000 tonnes of wheat for Ethiopia, Yemen and Afghanistan have been shipped. This is the eighth and ninth vessels chartered by the UN World Food Program in the framework of assistance to the countries of Africa and Asia," the message says.
Details: 26 vessels are currently under processing in the ports of Odesa, on which 1 million tonnes of Ukrainian agricultural products are loaded.
Since 1 August, a total of 475 vessels have left the Velyka Odesa ports [Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdennyi – ed.], exporting 11.2 million tonnes of Ukrainian food to Asia, Europe and Africa.
Background:
The United States, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is providing up to USD$20 million for the "Grain from Ukraine" initiative, announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the G20 Summit earlier this week.
In Istanbul, the parties agreed to extend the work of the Black Sea Grain Initiative for the export of food from three Ukrainian seaports for another 120 days.
