He singled out three distinctive features of the torture inflicted in Kherson Oblast: first, men and women were kept together; second, there were surveillance cameras in each confinement area; and third, there was a separate area for detained teenagers.

Quote: "There was a separate area where teenagers were detained. We are now determining their ages. People are testifying that some boys looked 14 years old. And the cross which I was showing in the video yesterday was made by a 19-year-old boy who had been kept here in a torture chamber. We did not find chambers for children or teenagers in other oblasts. But here we did."

Background:

  • Earlier, it was revealed that torture chambers set up by the occupiers were discovered at police stations the liberated part of Kherson Oblast.
  • While conducting stabilisation measures in the liberated city of Kherson, members of the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police discovered a torture chamber where the Russian occupiers had interrogated and tortured pro-Ukrainian residents of Kherson.
