Quote: "As a result of systematic work by the Security System of Ukraine, investigators identified 12 members of the so-called ‘Donetsk People’s Republic Public Chamber’ created by the occupiers. This occupying body completed the key tasks delegated to them by the Kremlin within the framework of the illegal referendum in the occupied territories of Donetsk Oblast."

Details: The Security Service revealed that collaborationist officials from local administrations, as well as businessmen who voluntarily agreed to increase the Russian budget, became the members of the so-called "public chamber".

It was they who delegated Denis Pushilin, the head of the "DPR" militants, to send the "urgent appeal" to the Kremlin. The appeal demanded the urgent separation of the Donetsk Oblast from Ukraine and its further integration into the territory of Russia.

Before preparing the "letter", the collaborators organised a massive campaign among locals in support of the Russian occupiers. Kremlin propagandists and members of Russian information outlets actively participated in these "events".

Ukrainian investigators have accused all persons of interest of violating Art. 110.2 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine) and Art. 111-1.5 (collaborationist activity) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of putting the suspects on the wanted list is being resolved.

In total, the Security Service of Ukraine has uncovered and declared over 70 organisers of the illegal "referendum" in Donetsk Oblast to be under suspicion.
