Ukraine's state gas company confirms Russian attack on gas production facilities

Russian forces shelled a gas production facility operated by UkrGasVydobuvannya, Ukraine’s largest state-owned gas producer, in the east of the country on Thursday, 17 November.

Details: Russian attacks destroyed several facilities and damaged several others.

Information about casualties is currently being ascertained. State Emergency Service workers have extinguished the fire that broke out on the scene.

"UkrGasVydobuvannya experts have been promptly dispatched to the damaged facilities. They are currently assessing the extent and the consequences of the attack," Chernyshov added.

Previously: Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Russia was attacking Ukraine’s gas production facilities and the Pivdennyi (Southern) Machine-Building Plant in the city of Dnipro on the morning of 17 November.
