Russia increases number of Kalibr missiles in Black Sea by five times

Russia moved up to six ships into the Black Sea on 17 November, including three ships carrying a total of up to 20 Kalibr missiles.

Quote from Military Naval Forces: "As of 17 November: up to six enemy ships are on combat duty in the Black Sea, including three carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles; the total firing capacity is up to 20 missiles. In the Sea of Azov, the enemy continues to control maritime communications, keeping up to one ship on combat duty."

Details: An additional 76 Kalibr missiles are carried on five Russian ships in the Mediterranean Sea, and there are a further 24 missiles on three Russian ships in the Caspian Sea.

The following Russian vessels are reported to have passed through the Kerch-Yenikale canal in the past 24 hours:

  • to the Sea of Azov: 34 ships, of which 8 ships moved from the Bosphorus Strait;
  • to the Black Sea: 18 ships, of which 6 ships continued to move in the direction of the Bosphorus Strait.

The Military Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces issued a reminder that the Russian Federation continues to violate the 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), as it disables automatic identification systems (AIS) on civilian vessels in the Sea of Azov.
