Explosions ring out in Dnipro and Kyiv, air defence activated in Kyiv Oblast

Explosions rang out in the cities of Dnipro and Kyiv on the morning of Thursday, 17 November, after air-raid sirens were sounded.

Details: Suspilne journalists reported hearing explosions in Dnipro around 08:30.

Air-raid alarm has been activated in the city of Dnipro and Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

An explosion also rang out in Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, at 08:56. Ukrainska Pravda’s sources reported that Ukraine’s air defence has been activated.

Oleksii Kuleba, Head of Kyiv Oblast Military Administration, has confirmed that air defence has been activated in Kyiv Oblast.

Reports that air defence systems have also been activated in a number of other Ukrainian oblasts have yet to be confirmed.
