Air-raid sirens sound throughout Ukraine as Russian missiles hit the country

Air-raid sirens were sounded on the morning of Thursday, 17 November in all of Ukraine except Crimea.

Details: As of 08:04, air-raid sirens have been sounded in the city of Kyiv and in Kyiv, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia and Zhytomyr oblasts.

As of 08:44, air-raid sirens have been sounded throughout all of Ukraine.

At 08:06, Vitalii Kim wrote: "The first four missiles are approaching. Take care."

Dumskaya, an Odesa-based news outlet, reported that a powerful explosion rang out in Odesa before the air-raid sirens were sounded. Suspilne reported that an explosion occurred in Odesa at 06:35. Air-raid sirens were sounded in Odesa Oblast at 07:23.

Update: As of 11:08, an all-clear has been sounded. The air-raid alert lasted for a total of 3.5 hours.

Air defence was deployed over Kyiv, but Russian missiles hit infrastructure facilities in the city of Dnipro, Odesa and Kharkiv oblasts.
