"Statements by the Polish media and officials about the fall of allegedly ‘Russian’ missiles near the settlement of Przewodów are a deliberate provocation aimed at escalating the situation," the Russian Ministry of Defence claimed.
The Ministry added that the Russian Federation did not carry out "any strikes" near the Ukraine-Poland state border, and that posted images of projectiles found in Przewodów "have nothing to do with Russian weapons."
As was reported on the afternoon of 15 November, Russia carried out a massive missile attack on Ukraine; missiles struck not far from the border with Poland. After that, the Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki urgently convened a meeting of Poland’s Committee of the Council of Ministers for National Security and Defence.
Earlier, the AP had reported that American intelligence confirmed that Russian missiles crossed Polish airspace on 15 November, killing two people. However, the Pentagon has not confirmed this version.
The Polish side has not officially confirmed that the incident was linked to Russia.
