Ukraine’s Foreign Minister urges NATO to provide Ukraine with modern aircraft and anti-aircraft defence so that it can shoot down all types of Russian missiles

Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba has urged NATO to hold a summit with the participation of Ukraine, and to provide Ukraine with aircraft and air defence equipment able to shoot down all models of Russian missiles.

European Pravda reports that Kuleba responded this way to the news of Russian missiles falling on the territory of Poland on 15 November.

"Ukraine reaffirms its full solidarity with Poland and stands ready to provide any necessary support. Collective response to Russian actions must be tough and principled." Kuleba wrote on Twitter.

As an immediate response, Kuleba urged holding a NATO summit with Ukraine’s participation to "to craft further joint actions which will force Russia to change its course on escalation," as well as providing Ukraine with modern F-15 and F-16 aircraft and air defence systems, "so that we can intercept any [incoming] Russian missiles."

"Today, protecting Ukraine’s skies means protecting NATO," Kuleba stressed.

NATO is coordinating with Poland its response to the fall of what are likely to be Russian missiles.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also previously called on the Alliance to act, calling the Russian missile strike in Poland "a very significant escalation."

As was reported earlier, on the afternoon of 15 November, Russia carried out a massive-scale missile attack on Ukraine; missiles struck not far from the border with Poland. After this, Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki urgently convened a meeting of the Committee of the Council of Ministers for National Security and Defence

Earlier, AP reported that American intelligence confirmed that Russian missiles had crossed Polish airspace on 15 November, killing two people. But the Pentagon has not corroborated this version.

The Russian Ministry of Defence claimed that it "had nothing to do" with the alleged missiles falling on the territory of Poland.

The Polish side has not officially confirmed that the incident was linked to Russia.
