Ukrainian Postal Service returns to Kherson: first two branches open on Tuesday

On 15 November, Ukrposhta (the Ukrainian Postal Service – ed.) will open its first two branches and start paying pensions in the liberated city of Kherson.

"As promised, we are coming back to Kherson, and we won’t be coming empty-handed. Today we will open the first two branches and pay the first pensions to the pensioners in Kherson," reported the head of Ukrposhta.

Smilianskyi signed the relevant order reopening Ukrposhta’s Directorate in Kherson on 15 November.

"Today I will stay a little longer as the director of the Kherson Directorate, and tomorrow I will hand over all authority, because the day will be especially busy," he added.

Background:

On 11 November, Defence Intelligence reported that the city of Kherson was back under the control of Ukraine, and units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were entering the city. The retreat routes of the occupiers were under the fire control of the Ukrainian army.

On 12 November, the legitimate Kherson Oblast State and Military Administrations, as well as the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police, started working in the city. At the same time, a curfew from 17:00 to 08:00 was imposed.

The first base stations of mobile operators in Kherson are operating on Starlink generators and terminals due to the lack of electricity.

On Friday, 11 November, the state-owned PrivatBank started taking measures to reopen its branches and network of ATMs and terminals in liberated Kherson.
