OLEKSII PAVLYSH – THURSDAY, 10 NOVEMBER 2022, 18:40
Ukraine’s state concern Ukroboronprom and the International Agency for Defence Cooperation (AMOS) at the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic signed an agreement on forming a joint defence cluster.
The agreement was signed on 9 November, Ukroboronprom press service reports.
The cluster is being created under the agreements between Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, and Petr Fiala, the Prime Minister of Czech Republic, that were reached last week.
The activity of the defence cluster will include producing military equipment, increasing the production volume of ammunition of different calibres (both using current capacities and newly created ones in secure locations), building service hubs for armament and military equipment maintenance and repair works as well as cooperation in the hi-tech sector and creating joint science and research centres.
"Leading Ukrainian and Czech defence enterprises, along with international financial donors, will be enlisted in work for the realisation of these plans", the concern explained.
"The Czech Republic will become a reliable industrial rear for the Ukrainian defence sector and the whole defence and industrial complex", – stated Tomáš Kopechny, the Deputy Minister of Defence of Czech Republic.
