Russia negotiates ammunition with third countries and its transport from Belarus – General Staff report

Russian troops are negotiating the purchase of ammunition with third countries, as well as its transport from Belarus.

Details: Russian forces are trying to hold the temporarily captured territories and are concentrating their efforts on attempting to disrupt the counteroffensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on certain fronts. At the same time, they are conducting periodic offensive actions on the Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts.

Today, 9 October, the occupiers launched five rocket attacks and 12 air strikes, and carried out more than 30 attacks from MLRSs. 

More than 30 towns and villages were shelled, including Bereznehuvate, Makiivka, Spirne, Bilohorivka, Zelenopillia, Vremivka, Marinka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Davydiv Brid, Nova Kamianka, Tryfonivka.

Russian troops used twenty cruise, air-to-ground and anti-aircraft guided missiles to strike Zaporizhzhia. In addition, they continue to use Iranian-made Shahed-136 unmanned aerial vehicles. One of them was destroyed by Ukraine’s air defence forces over the Black Sea.

There were no significant changes on the Volyn and Polissia fronts.

  • On the Sivernshchyna front: the Russians used mortars and tubed artillery to fire on areas in an around Myropillia, Mezenivka, Vorozhba, Slavhorod, Seredyna Buda and Starykove (Sumska Oblast). Without crossing the state border, Russians launched airstrikes from military aircraft.
  • On the Slobozhanshchyna front: Russian forces used tanks, mortars and rocket artillery to fire on areas in and around 30 towns and villages, including Bilyi Kolodiaz, Vysoka Yaruha, Izium, Neskuchne, Ridkodub, Chervona Zoria. They also used UAVs.
  • On the Kramatorsk front: Russian forces used tanks, mortars and rocket artillery to fire along the entire contact line, and in particular, on areas in and around Bilohorivka, Hrekivka, Ivanivka, Nevske, Pershotravneve, Serebrianka and Terny. They also carried out the mass mining of bridge crossings, crossings and the suburbs of cities and towns.
  • On the Bakhmut front: Russian forces used tanks, mortars and rocket artillery to fire along the entire contact line. In particular, they fired on areas in and around Andriivka, Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Zaitseve, Zelenopillia, Soledar, Yakovlivka, Maiorsk and Niu-Iork.
  • On the Avdiivka front: areas in and around Avdiivka, Vodiane, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Pervomaiske, Novomykhailivka were shelled.
  • The Russian forces did not carry out offensive actions on the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia fronts. Russian forces used tanks, mortars and rocket artillery to fire on more than 30 cities and towns, including Huliaipilske, Vilne Pole, Vuhledar, Vremivka, Novosilka, Poltavka and Charivne. 
  • On the Pivdennyi Buh front, over 35 cities and towns in the vicinity of the line of contact came under Russian fire. Thus, in Mykolaiv Oblast, 38 targets were hit, none of them military. These included 24 residential buildings, 3 critical infrastructure  facilities and essential utilities, and 7 industrial facilities.

Over the past 24 hours, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have repelled invaders’ attacks in and around Budarky, Terny, Soledar, Niu-Iork, Pervomaiske, Nevelske and Pobieda.

Ukrainian aircraft carried out 9 airstrikes, striking 7 areas of concentration of Russian military personnel and equipment and 3 anti-aircraft defence systems. In addition, Ukrainian air defence forces struck down 2 UAVs, one Russian aircraft and one X-59 air-to-ground missile.

Ukrainian Rocket Forces and Artillery units hit three control points and two concentrations of Russian military personnel, weaponry and military equipment. Radio-electronic warfare complexes and self-propelled artillery positions were also hit.
