Details: Over the course of the day, the occupiers carried out two missile strikes and five airstrikes, and fired more than 20 times from multiple-launch rocket systems.

Population and facilities of more than 10 Ukrainian cities, towns and villages were affected by Russian fire, including Ridkorub, Huliaipilske, Novoandriivka, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Slavhorod.

Russian forces used four Iranian-made Shahed-136 UAVs to attack the cities of Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv.

Russian invaders struck:

  • On the Sivershchyna front: the Russians used mortar systems and tubed artillery to shell areas in and around Senkivka and Yasna Poliana in Chernihiv Oblast; Seredyna Buda, Fotovyzh, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Ryzhivka, Holyshivske, Kyianytsia, Myropillia, Mezenivka, and Slavhorod in Sumy Oblast;
  • On the Slobozhanshchyna front: Russian forces used tanks, mortars and rocket artillery to fire on areas in and around Basove, Hlyboke, Vysoka Yaruha, Krasne, Strilecha, Starytsia, Hatyshche, Vovchansk, Volokhivka, and Dvorichna;
  • On the Kramatorsk front: Russian forces used mortar systems, tubed and rocket artillery to fire on areas in and around Terny, Raihorodok, Spirne, Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamianske, Serebrianka, Hryhorivka, Torske, Ivanivka, and Hrekivka;

  • On the Avdiivka front: the Russians attacked the areas in and around Avdiivka, Kamianka, Novobakhmutivka, Marinka, Krasnohorivka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske and Novomykhailivka;
  • On the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia fronts: infrastructure targets in Novoukrainka, Pavlivka, Neskuchne, Chervone, Huliaipole, and Novopil came under Russian fire;
  • On the Pivdennyi Buh front, over 20 towns and villages along the line of contact came under Russian fire.

Ukrainian aircraft carried out 11 airstrikes over the past day. Eight areas of concentrated Russian weaponry and equipment, as well as three anti-aircraft defence systems are confirmed to be hit.

In addition, Ukrainian air defence forces shot down two UAVs and two helicopters belonging to the Russian forces.

Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery struck one area where Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment were concentrated, one pontoon bridge crossing and an electronic warfare system.

The General Staff has also reported that the Russian occupation administration keeps pressuring the citizens of Ukraine who have remained in temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk Oblast. According to the available information, in some districts in the city of Horlivka, representatives of so-called security forces are intimidating local residents who have not supported the accession of the temporarily occupied region to Russia in an illegal sham referendum. They keep identifying men who are avoiding conscription; those men are getting detained and forcefully sent to units of the 1st Army Corps to replenish the losses.

According to available information, there are significant problems with provision of material needs for mobilisation measures that the Russian military leadership is conducting. Thus, in the beginning of October, less than a half of 8,000 conscripted people who are currently at Novosibirsk Higher Military Command School have been provided with military uniforms. Moreover, the mentioned personnel received only field uniforms and shoes. The rest should be purchased at their own expense; or, they can try and get it from their local authorities as humanitarian aid. The issue of supplying helmets and bulletproof vests to the conscripted remains problematic.

Russian occupiers keep suffering losses in the south of Ukraine. Thus, near the city of Kakhovka in Kherson Oblast, a strike on Russian manpower and equipment, including air defence systems, has been confirmed.

Additionally, after effective fire damage in an area where Russian soldiers were concentrated near Borozenske settlement on 5 October, 10 people were killed and nearly 20 injured.
