Oleksii Danilov, the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, advised Valentina Matviyenko, the head of Federation Council of Russia [lower chamber of the Russian Parliament], to think not about negotiations with Ukraine, but about repentance and a line of defence in The Hague, where the International Criminal Court is located.

Quote: "Advice to Matviyenko: think not about peace agreements, but about repentance before the betrayed Motherland, the Ukrainians you killed, and about the line of defence in The Hague.
You vote with hands that are elbow-deep in Ukrainian blood. Don't get distracted by things that no longer concern you.
There will be negotiations, but only with the new Russian government. But you will be very far away by then."

At the 8th G20 summit in Indonesia, Valentina Matviyenko, Head of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, proposed the delegation of Ukraine to sit down at the negotiating table. "Let’s just sit down at the negotiating table today, at the G20 venue. The Russian Parliament and the Ukrainian Parliament. Let’s try to understand each other, find an agreement," she said.
The Ukrainian Parliament rejected Matviyenko's offer.
