Two more bodies with traces of torture discovered in Kharkiv region

Law enforcement officers have discovered the bodies of two men bearing traces of torture in the liberated town of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi in Kharkiv Oblast.

Details: One of the victims was found with bruises on the neck and chest. The other had a bullet wound in the chest and groin area, as well as a head wound.

A pre-trial investigation into this case has been opened under Art. 438.2 of the Criminal Code (violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder).

Background:

  • It was reported on 5 October that law enforcement officers had found two mummified bodies in the basement of a destroyed house in the liberated village of Kamianka, Kharkiv Oblast.
  • Also in Kharkiv Oblast, law enforcement officers found two corpses of civilians who had been tortured by Russian special forces. The victims were handcuffed.
