Russian occupation forces set up training camp in Sievierodonetsk

Russian occupation forces have set up a training camp for the recently conscripted soldiers in the city of Sievierodonetsk in Luhansk Oblast.

Quote from Striuk: "According to the available information, the number of recently mobilised conscripts and other units in the city [of Sievierodonetsk] has really increased. Even something like a training camp has been set up.

…Additional forces, which are being trained or prepared, have entered the city."

Details: Striuk further said that Russian occupation forces are preparing to defend Sievierodonetsk in case the Armed Forces of Ukraine launch a counteroffensive, and are planting mines in and around the city as part of these preparations.

"They are preparing to defend the city quite seriously; they might pose serious problems for our troops. Mines are being planted everywhere all around; defence positions are being set up, concrete constructions are being built. The biggest threat is the fact that mines have been planted all around the city’s outskirts. This is the most difficult challenge we will have to overcome," the head of the Sievierodonetsk administration said.

He explained that according to his information, some of the Ukrainian collaborators who had agreed to work in the Russian occupation administration have left it. Meanwhile, Russian representatives that were working in various occupation structures have left the city altogether.

Striuk also reported that 10,000 civilians remain in the Sievierodonetsk hromada, including 7,000-8,000 people in the city of Sievierodonetsk itself. [The Sievierodonetsk hromada is an administrative unit that includes the city of Sievierodonetsk and its adjacent territories - ed.]
