Medvedev proposes to fulfil Russia's "demands" so Ukrainians can have electricity
STANISLAV POHORILOV – FRIDAY, 28 OCTOBER 2022, 14:47
Dmitry Medvedev, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, has said that in order for the Russian military to stop attacking the energy system, Ukraine must fulfil the Kremlin's demands. The Office of the President of Ukraine says this is recognition of terrorism on the state level.

Details: Medvedev has written that from the point of view of the Russian government, the import of electricity from Slovakia to Ukraine will not help stabilise the energy system.
According to the Russian statesman, the situation with the electricity supply in Ukraine will get better when the annexation of territories captured by Russia is "recognised".
Podolyak replied that Medvedev's statement demonstrates Russia's admission of terrorism at the state level.
Quote from Podolyak: "Fantastic! The Kremlin has directly stated through Medvedev: we will destroy the Ukrainian energy system and terrorise millions of people until Ukraine agrees to surrender. In fact, it is an official confession of terrorism at state level. What kind of negotiations can be considered here? With whom?".
Background:
- Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has carried out a total of 85 attacks on Ukraine’s energy facilities, including 51 strikes in October.
- After cancelling the export of electricity to Europe, Ukrainian traders LLC D. Trading, LLC ERU [Energy Resources of Ukraine] and the state-owned trader Energy Company of Ukraine began to test the possibility of importing electricity, starting from Slovakia.
