Quote from Aksyonov: "We visited the port and the crossing over the Dnipro [river]. The crossing is empty! Work on organising the departure of residents that live on the left bank of the Dnipro to safe regions in Russia has been completed.

I am glad that all those who wished to were able to quickly and safely leave the territory that is under fire from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In addition, we familiarised ourselves with the work of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), met with workers and assessed the general situation in the vicinity of the station."

Background:

  • On Thursday [27 October], Putin spoke at the Valdai Forum, which was created as a platform for developing Russia's strategy.
  • During the four hours of speaking and answering questions, the Russian president repeated the usual propagandist theses about the "hegemony of the West" and Russia's struggle against it.
  • He also commented on the issue of a possible nuclear attack by the Russian Federation and participation in the G20 summit in Indonesia.
