Source: Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Belarus
Quote: "The people of Belarus are replying to those who have not yet understood it. Or did not want to understand.
There will be no war if you don’t want one! Don’t provoke us, don’t try to intimidate us, don’t escalate and everything will be as you want it.
We don’t want war and don’t threaten anybody. But we will not hesitate to respond to provocations!"
Details: The video contains rhetoric about "brother nations", "the hostile West", references to World War II and great-grandparents that "walked to Berlin, turned off the ovens in concentration camps and defeated the fascists".
Background: The Armed Forces of Ukraine called upon the people of Belarus not to participate in the war against Ukraine. They emphasised that Ukraine has never threatened Belarus and never responded to the attacks on Ukraine and invasion of its territory from within the territory of Belarus since 24 February.
The Ukrainian forces called upon the citizens of Belarus not to follow the orders of the military command concerning entering the war against Ukraine and not to share responsibility for war crimes together with Russia.
