Liberation of Crimea will restore true peace – Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that true peace, which will end Russia's war against Ukraine, is possible only after the liberation of Crimea.

Source: President Zelenskyy during an online speech at the first parliamentary summit of the Crimea Platform held in Croatia.

Quote: "Everything started with it [Crimea - ed.]. Its liberation means the restoration of true peace. The Russian potential for aggression will be destroyed down to the root when the Ukrainian flag returns to its rightful place in the cities and villages of Crimea. Crimea must be freed from Russia’s exploitation as a bridgehead. Only then will the world feel that there will be no more losses, and people will feel that the world is becoming safer."

Details: President Zelenskyy emphasised that it will not be easy to reintegrate Crimea after years of occupation, "but thanks to our cooperation, we will be able to ensure this as well."

"We should make the format of the Crimea Platform a starting point for other humanitarian and diplomatic platforms that will contribute to the liberation of other territories that were once occupied, from Transnistria and Abkhazia to the northern territories," the president said.

As Euractiv reported, the Crimea Platform parliamentary summit in Zagreb, Croatia, was ignored by Croatia’s pro-Russian president.
