Details: Forced students’ labour initiative is called "We are close"; it is apparently held under the auspices of the Russian Commonwealth of Colleges.

In Buryatia, students' labour is used for the production of ghillie suits for snipers; and in Sverdlovsk Oblast, students with disabilities are involved to supply the military.

In Kostroma, female students of a local college of domestic service are involved in the sewing of thermal underwear. Parcels with clothes and gifts will be handed over to the Ministry of Defence; later on, these will be sent to the military.

In the Astrakhan Oblast, balaclavas and medical bags are being sown for the military. Students of the Astrakhan Provincial Technical College, the College of Art and Fashion Industry and the Astrakhan Technological Technical College are forced to do this. The work is being done in afterhours.

In Krasnokamensk, Transbaikal Territory, students of the Krasnokamensk Industrial and Technological College sew blankets. The initiative in this institution is called Patchy Heat. There are students working as seamstresses, as well as those who live in the dormitory.

In the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, Maksym Lazarev, member of the local council, proposed to force students to sew clothes for the military. He stated that he had already sent the proposal to the regional department of education.

Not only college students, but also university students are required to make equipment for the participants in the invasion of Ukraine. So, in Buryatia, female students of the East Siberian State University of Technology and Management sew camouflage suits for snipers.

Balaclavas for conscripts are being sewn by female students with disabilities at the "Source" college in the city of Sysert, Sverdlovsk Oblast.

Background: The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Russian military command faced problems with the equipment of conscripts. Thus, in Kherson Oblast, mobilised Russian servicemen were distinguished by poor equipment; most of them lacked military boots and other elements of clothing and equipment.
