Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Ukrainian forces are making gains on the front every day and will not be stopped by Russia’s terrorist attacks on Ukraine’s infrastructure.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "I want to emphasise: neither this strike by [the] terrorists nor any other similar strikes by them will stop our defenders. Russian propagandists are lying when they say that this terror against our infrastructure and people can somehow slow down the active actions of our military or create some difficulties for our defense. Ukrainians are united and know for sure that Russia has no chance of winning this war.

Our defence forces are [receiving] everything they need to defend the country and are pushing forward every day; I emphasise: every day."

Details: Zelenskyy emphasised that the Russian army "[is] los[ing] and retreat[ing] on the battlefield, and therefore the results of terror against our civilian population and infrastructure are presented by Russian propaganda as a substitute for military victories."

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian President also called on Ukrainians to reduce their energy consumption and plan their days with regard to the schedule of planned blackouts designed to stabilise Ukraine’s energy system.

Background:

  • On Saturday, the Russian occupying forces carried out again a massive missile strike on energy structures in various regions of Ukraine.
  • According to the President’s Office, 1,451,603 Ukrainians were left without electricity as a result of Russian missile strikes on the energy structure in various regions.
  • General Staff reported that as a result of enemy strikes on Saturday, energy and critical infrastructure facilities in the Volyn, Rivne, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyy, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Zaporizhia, Odesa and Mykolaiv Oblasts were damaged.
  • On Saturday, the occupiers launched about 40 missile strikes and caused 16 attacks by Iranian drones. At the same time, the Ukrainian defenders managed to shoot down 20 cruise missiles and 11 UAVs.
