Kuleba calls for Russia to be deprived of its seat on UN Security Council

EUROPEAN PRAVDA — SATURDAY, 22 OCTOBER 2022 19:01
Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, has called for Russia to be deprived of its permanent seat on the UN Security Council due to its numerous war crimes, reports European Pravda.
After committing the crime of aggression against Ukraine, numerous war crimes, undermining global food and energy security, should Russia still occupy the seat of a permanent member of the UN Security Council? Remember that Russia is there on dubious legal grounds. @United24media pic.twitter.com/x7eQ3KmDSy

"After committing the crime of aggression against Ukraine, numerous war crimes, [and] undermining global food and energy security, should Russia still be a permanent member of the UN Security Council?" the minister tweeted.
He also recalled that the Russian Federation has dubious legal grounds for being on the UN Security Council.
Reminder: Speaking at a meeting of the UN Security Council almost immediately after the start of the full-scale invasion, Serhii Kyslytsia, Ukraine’s permanent representative to the UN, raised the issue of the legality of the Russian Federation succeeding the USSR as a member of the UN Security Council.
This article by Serhii Sydorenko explains why Ukrainian diplomats are challenging Russia's full membership: Russia gained its UN Security Council seat illegally. This must be fixed.
