Ukraine is calling upon the UN, the EU and other organisations to send an international monitoring mission to the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant in the occupied part of Kherson Oblast.

Quote: "Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, has reported that we are currently watching Russian troops prepare for another terrorist attack in the territory of Kherson Oblast. Russians have mined the dam and aggregates of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant.
This terrorist attack may result in thousands of victims and the flooding of tens of settlements.
We are turning to the UN, the EU and other organisations in order to organise an international monitoring mission to the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant. International experts must immediately arrive at the plant along with Ukrainian staff."
Details: Ukrainian authorities are also calling upon residents of the occupied territory of Kherson Oblast and other oblasts to immediately evacuate to non-occupied territories of Ukraine.
Background: On 20 October Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, reported in an address to the European Council that Russians mined the dam and aggregates of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant and are planning to commit a terrorist attack under the Ukrainian flag.
He called upon various institutions to send an international monitoring mission to the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, bringing Ukrainian staff and facilitating the immediate demining of the dam and its aggregates.
