Zelenskyy sanctions Prigozhin, Russian propagandists and collaborators

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed decrees introducing sanctions against the Russian Federation, covering about 4,000 individuals and companies.
Zelenskyy signed decrees Nos. 726 and 727, reported the website of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
The appendices to the decrees state that sanctions have been specifically implemented against the representatives of the occupying administrations (Kirill Stremousov, Volodymyr Saldo, Volodymyr Rohov, Kostyantin Ivashchenko, etc.).
Members of the military and mercenaries are also on the sanctions list (including Yevgeny Prigozhin, the financier of the Wagner Group), as are recruiters of mercenaries (Muhammad Al-Salti, Commander-in-Chief of the Palestine Liberation Army, and Abu Gani Shammut, leader of the Syrian unit Al-Akhdat al-Omariya).
The Russian propagandists Olga Skabeyeva, Vladimir Solovyov and his family, and Tigran Keosayan have also been sanctioned.
The sanctions will be valid for 10 years.
The sanctions include:
- blocking assets – a temporary deprivation of the right to use and dispose of assets belonging to an individual or legal person, as well as assets which may be used by such person directly or indirectly (through other individuals or legal persons);
- restriction of trading operations (complete suspension);
- restriction, partial or complete suspension of the transit of resources, flights or transportation within the territory of Ukraine (complete suspension);
- prevention of withdrawal of capital outside the territory of Ukraine;
- suspension of fulfilment of economic and financial obligations;
- cancellation or suspension of licences and other permits required for a particular activity, specifically, the cancellation or suspension of special permits for subsoil use;
- a ban on participation in the privatisation or lease of state property by residents of the foreign state and by persons that are directly or indirectly controlled by or acting in the interest of residents of the foreign state;
- a ban or restriction on foreign non-military vessels and warships entering Ukraine’s territorial sea, internal waters and ports, and on aircraft entering Ukraine’s airspace or landing on the territory of Ukraine (total ban);
- a ban on issuing permits and licences of the National Bank of Ukraine on investing in the foreign state.
Andrii Yermak, the head of the Office of the President, specified that over 3,800 individuals and legal persons – 2,507 and 1,374 respectively - are on the sanctions list.
