Rescuers' car exploded in Kharkiv Oblast, two dead

On 19 October, a car with employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine exploded upon hitting a mine in Izium District ( Kharkiv Oblast), as a result of which two people were killed and four were injured.

Quote from Syniehubov: "There is still a very high risk posed by mines in the oblast. Yesterday, in Izium District, a mine blew up a car with employees of the State Emergency Service. Unfortunately, two people were killed and four were injured".

Details: Serhiy Haidai [Head of Luhansk Oblast Military Administration - ed.] said that sappers from Luhansk Oblast were killed in Kharkiv Oblast. 

Quote from Haidai: "Yesterday afternoon, a group of our rescuers driving a service vehicle hit an anti-tank mine in Kharkiv Oblast. As a result of the explosion, engineer-sapper Oleksii Yemanov and sapper Serhii Trotsenko received fatal injuries. Four more rescuers were injured and are currently in hospital. 

The guys were engaged in demining the liberated settlements of Kharkiv Oblast. Oleksii was 27, Serhii 28".

Details: Bomb disposal units of the State Emergency Service defused 657 explosive devices in the liberated territories of Kharkiv Oblast over the past day.

The oblast’s Emergency Medical Assistance Centre stated that a 78-year-old resident of Izium District was hospitalised with injuries during the day.

Russian forces shelled settlements in the Kharkiv, Izium, Chuhuiv and Kupiansk districts.

Around 16:00 on 19 October, Vovchansk was shelled by artillery and a shop building was destroyed. The Russians also used artillery to shell areas in and around the settlements of Hoptivka, Hryanikyvka, Kolodyazne, Krasne, Ohirtseve, Strelecha, Berestovka, Kislivka, and Pershotravneve.
