During the meeting, the representatives of the regiment discussed the issue of Belarusian-Ukrainian relations under the conditions of Russian aggression with the Members of Verkhovna Rada.

"The Ukrainian side paid respect to Belarusians who are fighting for Ukraine with weapons in their arms and expressed their desire to cooperate with the Kalinoŭski Regiment, which acts as the legal representative of the people of Belarus", the press service of the regiment reports.

Following the results of the meeting, the Members of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine promised to propose changes to a decree about the citizens of Belarus to the Cabinet of Ministers. The Members of the Verkhovna Rada decided to put their resolution to recognise Belarus as a territory temporarily occupied by Russia to a vote.

The two sides made an agreement regarding ongoing cooperation concerning aspects of combat action to liberate the Ukrainian and Belorusian nations.

Background: In August, Svetlana Tsikhanouskaya, ex-candidate for President of Belarus, announced the creation of the "United Transitional Committee" of Belarus.

Recently, she suggested that Ukraine establish diplomatic relations with her "transitional committee".

European Pravda published a column by Bohdan Yaremenko, member of the Sluha Narodu (Servant of the People) party, titled "Another Belarus: Ukraine Should Come Up with Alternative to Tsikhanouskaya among anti-Lukashenko Opposition". In it, Yaremenko suggests avoiding contact with Svetlana Tsikhanouskaya and her transitional government. Instead he suggests creating an alternative platform for uniting the Belorusian position based on the Kastuś Kalinoŭski Regiment.
