Zelenskyy does not rule taking the power grid out of commission: We are preparing for various scenarios

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set an objective to promptly set up mobile power supply posts for critical infrastructure in cities, towns, and villages.

The President announced this during a strategic meeting on security at energy supply facilities, as reported by the President’s Office.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko, Minister of Internal Affairs Denys Monastyrskyi, Minister for Communities and Territorial Development Oleksii Chernyshov, representatives of the State Emergency Service, managers of energy companies, executive bodies, and local authorities also took part in this meeting under the leadership of Zelenskyy.

"The participants of the meeting discussed measures to eliminate the consequences if the energy system of Ukraine were disabled.

In addition, urgent issues relating to security at critical facilities that ensure the vital activity of cities, towns and villages of Ukraine were considered, as well as the necessary steps to get through the heating season under conditions of constant shelling of energy supply facilities by the troops of the terrorist country, Russia," the statement said.

We are preparing for various scenarios of possible consequences. No matter what the enemy plans and does, Ukraine will defend itself", Zelenskyy posted on Facebook.

"Scenarios of possible consequences and models of population support during possible threats of various degrees of danger were discussed. The participants agreed on the measures if electricity were not available in populated areas.

Separately, they focused on the issue of cooperation with international partners regarding equipment to provide it to all settlements that could be left without electricity." the President’s Office added.
