"We will swim across Dnipro River": occupier’s account of the encirclement in the Kherson region
UKRAINSKA PRAVDA – WEDNESDAY, 19 OCTOBER 2022, 18:52
Ukrainian intelligence published an intercepted call made by a Russian occupier from the temporarily occupied Kherson region, who described the prospects of a "kettling", or encirclement, of the Russian troops by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Details: An occupier is telling his girlfriend about the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kherson region.
– So, is it quiet there?
– Well, there are shootings. Seems like they (the Ukrainian forces – ed.) want to take us into a cauldron, encircle us. There is news that they want to enter Beryslav from this side. If they take Beryslav, it’s over: either we will shoot back, or just swim across the Dnipro River on our own in order to survive.
I don’t get why they can’t just…You see, they have a crossing where they all sit, and no one is able to hit it. They just keep coming at us every day.
When they came at us today – for God’s sake! If our troops can’t keep them there, on the right flank, then they will encircle us. I just hope they don’t manage to besiege us within a month, and I’ll just get out of here."
Background: On 6 October, Natalia Humeniuk, the head of the Operational Command Pivden (South) press centre, reported that the occupiers in the south are stuck between Ukrainian units and the right bank of Dnipro: "If we take away their opportunities to move to the other bank, they will be encircled".
