Vlad Batrîncea and Olga Cebotari, the leaders of the Moldovan Socialist Party, met in Moscow on Monday with Sergey Mironov, the head of the "A Just Russia — For Truth" party, deputy of the Russian State Duma [the lower chamber of the Russian Parliament].

This was reported by European Pravda with reference to NewsMaker [an independent online edition].

It is noted that Mironov discussed with Batrincha and Chebotar the ban on the import of Moldovan vegetables and fruits to Russia, the gradual return of Moldovan companies to the Russian market, as well as the supply of Russian gas to Moldova.

"We are now worried about your Republic, for you. We are closely watching the protests against the policies of the current president and the ruling party. I see how the Party of Socialists are fighting, how it is trying to influence the situation," said Mironov in particular.

"A Just Russia — For Truth" was the first party to sign a cooperation agreement with the Party of Socialists of Moldova back in 2014.

Moldova does not recognize the legal personality of the terrorist "L/DPR" [the self-proclaimed Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics] and also condemned Russia's annexation of four Ukrainian oblasts at the end of September.

At the same time, since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Moldavan Socialist Party has avoided commenting on this issue, declaring the need to maintain neutrality and maintain friendly relations with Russia.
